The “Juicy Lucy” Cheese-Stuffed Burger

Get ready to create some unforgettable moments around the grill this summer with our elevated cheese-filled burger, the “Juicy Lucy”! We have taken fresh ground beef and The Creamery Baby Cheddar Cheese to the next level by delivering a delicious twist on a beloved favorite. With a burst of gooey, melted cheese in every bite and topped with our secret sauce, this is a recipe the entire family will enjoy!

Makes 6 burgers

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 ½ cups, 6 ounces shredded The Creamery Baby Cheddar Cheese, divided
  • Hamburger buns
  • Your favorite burger toppings: lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, pickles and secret sauce (recipe below)

Directions:

Mix 2 pounds of ground beef with the salt and pepper until just combined.

Divide the ground beef into 5-to-6-ounce portions (about a baseball size). Set aside in the refrigerator.

Shred the Baby Cheddar cheese and portion out ¼ cup of cheese for each of the six burgers.

Cut 6 squares of parchment paper, 4 inches by 4 inches in size.

Remove the ground beef from the refrigerator. Split each portion in two, and on a square of cut parchment paper, flatten one half of each portion into a thin, round patty.

Place one portion of shredded cheese in the center of the patty, making sure to leave the edges uncovered.

Flatten the other half of the ground beef portion into a relatively thin patty, and place on top of the cheese layer. Press down on the patty, ensuring the edges are sealed together. Refrigerate until time to cook.

Preheat a cast iron pan, griddle, or grill over high heat.

Toast your hamburger buns. Set aside.

Remove the burgers from the fridge. Flip the patty parchment-side up onto the heated pan (or grill), and peel off the parchment from the burger. Sear for 4 to 5 minutes on one side.

Flip your burgers, and cook until desired doneness, about 5 minutes more.

Let your burgers rest and cool before enjoying- the cheese will be extremely hot!

While the burgers cool, make your burger sauce:

Ingredients for burger sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons minced pickles
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon honey mustard
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup

Directions:

Mix to combine and spread on toasted buns.

Assemble your burger with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

** PRO TIP ** Make your burger extra cheesy by adding a slice of The Creamery Baby Cheddar on top!
