The foods we share during the holidays often become part of our traditions. A familiar cheese appears on the board every year. A favorite recipe is passed from one generation to the next. A thoughtfully packed box arrives at the door, ready to be opened and enjoyed together.Â
But long before those foods reach the holiday table, their stories begin somewhere else.Â
For the cheese made at The Creamery, that story begins on family dairy farms in Utah.Â
Before the cheesemaking begins.Â
Dairy farming is not work that pauses for weekends or holidays. Cows need care every day, and producing high-quality milk requires close attention to their health, nutrition and surroundings.Â
Behind the milk used to make our cheese are families who have built their lives around that responsibility. Some have worked in dairy farming for generations, passing down knowledge, values and a commitment to caring for their animals and land.Â
These farmers do more than supply milk to The Creamery. They are small business owners and members of the cooperative that own our business. When customers choose food from The Creamery, they are choosing products connected to the families who helped make them possible.
From fresh milk to Utah cheese.Â
Fresh milk from nearby family farms arrives at The Creamery’s cheesemaking plant in Beaver five days a week. Some of that milk travels only a few miles before cheesemaking begins.Â
That short journey helps create a genuine farm-to-table connection. As shared in a recent story from St. George News, much of the milk used in The Creamery cheeses comes from farms close to Beaver, and it can become fresh cheese curds within hours of leaving the farm. Â
The cheesemaking process starts early. Using an artisan cheesemaking process, our team turns farm-fresh milk into cheese curds and a variety of cheddars, Jacks, Gouda and more. Fresh curds are hand-packed before making the short trip across the parking lot to The Creamery’s store. Â
Every block and bag represents many hands working toward the same result, from the farmers caring for their herds to the cheesemakers monitoring each batch and the team preparing finished products for customers.
Â
Food with a story behind it.Â
Knowing where food comes from can change the way we experience it.Â
Cheese is no longer simply another item on a holiday board. It becomes the result of early mornings on the farm, fresh milk delivered to Beaver and careful work by people who take pride in what they produce.Â
That connection is especially meaningful during the holidays, when food often brings people together. A cheese board set out for visiting family, a favorite dish served at dinner or a package sent to someone far away can carry a small part of that story to another table.Â
It is one reason The Creamery has remained connected to Utah dairy farming since its beginnings in 1952. Although our business has grown from a small cheese shop into a destination and online store serving cheese lovers across the country, our purpose remains rooted in showcasing dairy, celebrating farmers and helping people understand where their food comes from.
Â
Bring the farm-to-table story home.Â
The Creamery’s cheeses are made in Beaver, Utah, with milk from our family farms and offer an easy way to bring farm-to-table flavor to holiday gatherings.Â
Choose a familiar Medium Cheddar or mild, creamy Gouda for a crowd-friendly cheese board. Add Jalapeño Jack or Fiery Jack for guests who enjoy a little heat. Fresh cheese curds make an easy snack for family members to share while cooking, visiting or settling in for a holiday movie.Â
Our curated boxes bring together these cheeses and more with crackers, meats, sweets and other accompaniments selected for gifting, hosting and sharing. But no matter how the cheese reaches the table, the story behind it remains the same.Â
It begins with a family farm, continues with fresh milk and skilled cheesemaking, and ends wherever people gather to share good food.Â
This holiday season, we invite you to explore The Creamery’s cheeses and bring a taste of Utah’s family farms to your table.
