Made with our mildly sweet Gouda cheese, this hot sandwich is simple yet delicious. The addition of fresh avocado and hot honey takes the classic grilled cheese flavor to an elevated experience.
- 2 tablespoons salted cultured butter, softened
- 2 slices sourdough bread
- 1 tablespoon hot honey
- 1/2 avocado, thinly sliced
- 2 ounces The Creamery Gouda Cheese, shredded
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat.
Spread 1 tablespoon of softened butter on one slice of sourdough. Place butter-side down in the skillet.
Drizzle hot honey over sourdough, top with sliced avocado and shredded Gouda cheese. Press the pile to stick to the bread. It’s OK to have overflow — that will make delicious crispy bits!
Spread leftover butter on remaining slide of sourdough and top, butter-side up.
Toast low and slow until golden brown and cheese begins to melt, about 6 minutes. Flip and brown the other side, about 4-5 more minutes.
Remove and slice. Serve alone or with freshly dressed greens.
